First run on Windows

If SmartScreen says “Windows protected your PC,” select “More info,” then “Run anyway.” This should only appear during the first installation.

WhatsTant installs to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\WhatsTant without administrator privileges. Data stays in %USERPROFILE%\.whatstant and is not deleted when you uninstall the app.

Unsigned macOS build

If macOS says the app cannot be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software, or says it is damaged, right-click WhatsTant and choose “Open.”

If it still does not open, run:

xattr -cr /Applications/WhatsTant.app

After installation

Open WhatsTant, scan the QR code to sign in to WhatsApp, then follow the Chinese quick-start guide. Cloud sync and CRM are optional.
